Fire, Burnt Toast, & Rush...

You might ask yourself what do these three things have in common!?
Well, fire is hot...
I mean hot.
I built a fire out in the pit Sunday afternoon...lots of fun...
started with no problems, and I kept on adding logs.
It got hot...and the smoke was burning my eyes...
yes, burning my eyes. Burnt toast almost does the same thing...obviously it is hot
coming out of the toaster...and it really sucks when you find out that your nice hot toast
is hotter than you wanted it to be. You can scrape the burnt areas of the bread with a
knife, but it doesn't taste the same...no matter what you spread on the slices.

So...I just finished watching a Rush dvd from Rio.
It was ok, but it wasn't Journey... and the sound production wasn't the best.
The crowd was louder than the band, and Geddy Lee...
How do you compete with thousands of people screaming at the top of their lungs?
Geddy is getting older...he can hit the high notes, but not as well as in his younger days.
Yes, the band is still hot musically...but, one needs to rethink whether to play the tunes that are
easier to sing...or not at all.

So what do these three have to do with each other...sounds almost like Sesame Street.
You must remember Sesame Street...oh, come on ::
One of these things is not like the other
One of these things is not quite the same
You get the idea..
Fire, Burnt Toast, and Rush...
When you're hot...you're hot...there was lots of smoke onstage...but really, as much as I appreciate what Rush have done...I thinks they are a bit crispy around the edges now.

You may not agree with me...but that is ok...I am trying this for the first time.
I don't always get things right the first time around, or even the second, but I keep trying.
I give Rush two thumbs up for keeping the fire burning...but at least once, Neil should
smile...no maybe twice...since there was an almost smile happening at one point. Have to give him that much.

My next blog should have something worth reading...or if you don't like mine...go and
read Juanita's Restive Ramblings...
